Goal setting

Personal goal setting is a powerful process of thinking where you can fully visualize your future. It is also a unique way of motivating yourself as you turn your visions and efforts into a reality. By knowing precisely what you really want from life, your efforts will no longer be misdirected. You will know where you can concentrate your efforts in some points and you can also easily tackle distractions that lead you astray.

Some people always find it hard working tirelessly but they don’t seem to get anywhere worthwhile. That is because they never spent much time thinking what they really want from life. If you are one of these people, then you should set your personal goals where they can fully serve you.

Why do we need Goal Setting?

Setting goals is much more like making yourself a blueprint of your future. It is used as a basis for achieving something in a specific field. For example, if you’re doing a business, it is recommended for you to plan your goals ahead if you want something to achieve. As you build your goals, you are also building processes. You are creating steps on how to make this business a successful one. Hitting your targeted goal means one thing, achievement. Achievements are made if you have come to the realization of your goals. But not all achievements have to be long. It depends on what type of goal you are pursuing. In setting goals, we have to visualize either long term or short term goals. It depends on what we really want to gain in life. If you want to be a billionaire for the next 50 years, then that would be a long term goal. Either way, you have to organize your time and resources and also a handful of motivation to get yourself focused to your goals.

tracking goalsHow to set your personal goals?

If you are still on a blind alley on how to set your goals, start with a simple thing:

1. Get the “big picture”. You will never know what you want to do if you don’t know what you want to be. Start your goals by looking into the future. This will narrow all the things that you need to do in order for you to get to your goals.

2. Break your goal into smaller goals. If you are planning your lifetime goal, you should break them into several achievable goals either long term or short term goals. Short term goals are even more achievable than long term goals since they don’t take up much time and you’re easily motivated. Have these goals linked to each other so as you complete your first goal, your second goal comes along and it won’t be hard to do.

3. Start working on these goals. Goals must be pushed through. Nails don’t get hammered by itself that’s why you should do the effort to make these goals into achievements. Keep track on everything that you do and always keep your motivation on and going. Goal setting is not hard if you keep your cool and do your thing passionately.
